Child and Adolescent Trauma CGS
This Certificate of Graduate Study is designed for RIC social work graduate students and is meant to be completed while working toward a RIC MSW degree.
What You'll Learn and Gain
This program strives to increase our graduate social work interns' capacity to incorporate trauma-informed knowledge into their practices-therefore improving outcomes when trauma-sensitive interventions are required.
Understand the Basic Program Structure
- 18 total credits in courses designed to enhance understanding of how trauma alters the functioning of trauma survivors and their families:
- 2 clinical courses
- 2 field seminars
- 2 specialized courses taken in sequence: SWRK 637 and 638 that build upon the curriculum foundations of the NCTSN
- 600 total hours of internship
